Telecommunications Engineer

If you would like to be part of the Access Engineering Team involved in network planning, FTTH and DOCSIS architecture design using the latest technologies, this Job is for you! We are looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to form part of our dynamic Fixed Access team.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize Melita’s fixed access network (FTTH, GPON, DOCSIS, WDM)

• Maintaining systems under our responsibility as well as exploit opportunities for improvement

• Diagnose and resolve network faults with precision and speed

• Preparation of projects and systems documentation

• Deliver high-performance, reliable connectivity for customers and businesses

• Work hands-on with latest telecoms technologies and infrastructure

• Collaborate with teammates, planners and field teams

• A degree in a telecommunications related field or equivalent.

• Preferably in possession of CCNA and/or Linux qualifications.

• 2+ years’ working experience in WDM/HFC/CCAP/GPON access technologies.

• Preferable working experience on Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V)

• Excellent communications and organisation skills and be a dedicated team player.

• A problem-solver’s mindset with field-ready resilience

• Be able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

• Possess a valid driving license.

• A good command of English language.

• Experience in the local telecommunications environment would be considered an asset.
